As the Director of Recruitment and Training, Matt builds out NYCDA's team with folks who are devoted to the common cause of providing a quality education to people who want to learn to code. A New York native, Matt was born in Manhattan and raised on Long Island (read: "Lawng" Island). After graduating Columbia with a degree in Anthropology and a thesis on LARPing, Matt moved to Austin, TX to work at an education non-profit. Working with middle school students was an amazing experience and sparked Matt's lifelong passion of working for organizations that devote themselves to the education of others. Matt currently resides in Brooklyn and spends his time drawing birds, watching Game of Thrones, and enjoying the outdoors.
