Krystal Kaplan, Outcomes Coordinator at the New York Code + Design Academy sat down on camera to talk about her role with the Career Services Department and her mission to help students and alumni gain the information and resources needed to pursue their career.
Through personalized, one-on-one counseling, Krystal helps guide students in ways most beneficial to their needs. She also talks about the many advantages of being a student at NYCDA and what is offered to current students and alumni such as lunch + learns, career development week, and the graduate showcase.
"She had a very personal way of going about it. It was much different than dealing with recruiters." - Jeff Chui, NYCDA Graduate and Junior Developer at McCann
Krystal also utilizes her connections with both startups and larger corporations, to allow students the opportunity to hear from working professionals. This happens both with lectures hosted at the NYCDA campus, as well as through off-site visits for students to see workplaces to get a glimpse of what it would be like working in technology.
If you are interested in learning how to code and want to be a part of a community of knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated tech professionals, the New York Code + Design Academy is the place for you. Take some time to view the many full-time and part-time courses we offer here.
