Just seeing that pattern brings on feelings of nostalgia: winning some Pogs with your favorite slammer, cleaning up after your Tamagotchi, the cacophonous wail of booting up your old PC with Windows 95. Those are the feels we're longing for tonight at LSC.
We wanted to take a walk down memory lane, and make sure we haven't lost our 90s edginess, so we put together a quiz to see just how hella fly we still are. You can take the quiz below to find out for yourself.
At the end, you can to enter to win a scholarship to an upcoming class at Liberty Science Center, and learn how to build a website just like this (or way better). Details of the scholarship are below.
Important: Please read these rules (the “Rules”) before entering The New York Code + Design Academy’s Scholarship Contest 2017 (the “Contest”). Contest Sponsor is New York Code + Design Academy (“Sponsor”), 90 John Street, Suite 404, New York, NY 10038. By participating in the Contest you agree to be bound by these Rules.
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Eligibility: A purchase or payment is not necessary and will not increase your odds of winning. The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older and residing in the United States at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor), its subsidiaries, its affiliated companies, its parent company, and its advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and household members are not eligible to participate in the Contest. “Immediate family members” means parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses, regardless of where they live. “Household members” means people who share the same residence at least three months a year. If you do not meet these eligibility requirements or comply with these official rules, you are not eligible to win and Sponsor reserve the right not to award the prize to you.
To be eligible to win, entry must be completed and received by The New York Code + Design Academy in the manner and format designated in these Rules. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is void in Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, and where prohibited by law. By entering the Contest, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Rules, which shall be final and legally binding in all matters relating to this Contest.
Entries: Use of automated systems to enter is prohibited and may result in disqualification. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an online entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the email address. The decisions of Sponsor are final in all respects.
Entry Period: The entry period for the Contest begins on September 21, 2017 at 12:01 PM EST and ends on September 30, 2017 at 11:59AM EST. (the “Entry Period”). All entries must be received during the Entry Period to be eligible to win. The New York Code + Design Academy’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Entry Period. The Winner will be notified on or around October 1, 2017 via email.
How to Enter: ONLINE ENTRY: Fill out your personal information to be automatically entered into The New York Code + Design Academy’s Scholarship Contest 2017.
Prize. One (1) Full Scholarship to the Web Development 100 class at Liberty Science Center. The total approximate retail value of the Prize is $3,850.00. Limit one prize per winner. All federal, state, or local income taxes and other taxes, if any, are the winner’s sole responsibility.
Selection of Winner: Sponsor will select a winner on October 1, 2017 from the completed entries. If the winner does not accept within 24 hours, Sponsor will pick a new Winner. Winner agrees to have his or her name, photo, and likeness shared on Sponsor’s social media accounts including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Sponsorship and Disclaimer: You understand that you are providing your information to The New York Code + Design Academy as the official sponsor. Sponsor will not be responsible for and shall not be liable for: (a) any delayed, lost, destroyed, misrouted, incomplete, undelivered, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or entries, or any other errors or problems of any kind which may limit or affect an entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any Contest disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor or by non-authorized human intervention, including without limitation, any error that is the result of any infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest; (d) any printing, typographical, electronic, Internet, email, website, software or other similar errors in any materials associated with the Contest; or (e) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of participating in the Contest or possession or use of the Prize.
By entering the Contest by any permitted means, you agree to these terms and further agree to defend, indemnify and hold Sponsor, its affiliated companies, its subsidiaries, its parent company and each of their directors, officers, agents, equity holders and employees, harmless for any loss, damages or costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, resulting from any third party claim, action, or demand resulting from your breach of these Rules. Any mention of third parties is incidental and are not affiliated with this Contest.
Additional Rules & Regulations: If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or terminate the Contest. Further, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual deemed to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or the Sponsor’s website; (b) ineligible or otherwise violating the Rules; (c) violating the Terms of Service of The New York Code + Design Academy, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any property or service, or (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If the Prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute another Prize.
Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrants agree that: (1) any disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by a state or federal court located in New York; (2) any claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant, shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion and governed by the laws of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of New York or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than New York.
